Advent of Code 2025
Hello everyone, hope you are having a splendid vacation.
There is a very interesting challenge ahead of you – Advent of Code!!
What is “Advent of Code”
Advent of Code , created by Eric Wastl, is an Advent calendar of small programming puzzles for a variety of skill levels that can be solved in any programming language you like.
You don’t need a computer science background to participate – just a little programming knowledge and some problem solving skills will get you pretty far. Nor do you need a fancy computer; every problem has a solution that completes in at most 15 seconds on ten-year-old hardware.
When does it take place?
As said before, it is an Advent calendar. It will take place over 12 days (instead of the 25 days as before)
It starts everyday 10:30 am IST from 1st Decemeber till the 12th.
What is the puzzle about?
The puzzle can be anything :)
All the puzzles follow a particular theme based on Christmas.
Each puzzle has two parts, solving the first part unlocks the second.
The puzzle does not involve submitting a piece of code to a server. Instead each participant is given a different input and they are supposed to give the expected result for the given input.
To get an idea of it have a look at the previously conducted challenges.
How do I get started?
It’s a free challenge available on this website.
All you need is a place to code and a browser (and ofc, enthu :) )
What Programming Club is doing for this event
Advent of Code allows private leaderboards and just like last year we will be having a private leaderboard from Programming Club’s side.
We also have this “WhatsApp” Group where you can discuss the questions after they are out. Please make sure not to peek into this before solving the question unless you want hints ;)
You can check this out for more information.
See you at the leaderboard :)
